Blaas of Glory

(Kopie 1)

Ever since they started out in 2007, Blaas Of Glory have been on a long march to glory. From Amsterdam to Barcelona, from London to Hamburg, from Belgium to Finland; they will get the whole world headbanging to their metal sound, performed on the glockenspiel and the sousaphone. And to achieve their goal, the members of this band will march right up to the gates of hell, if necessary.

Blaas Of Glory is a hilarious acoustic and mobile act that brings back hard rock to its absolute essence. Armed with sousaphone, flute, clarinet, glockenspiel, banjo, accordion, washboard, acoustic guitars, snare and bass drums and
harmonious singing, this Heavy Metal Marching Band can literally blow back the life into classic hits dating from the pre-historic era of hard rock.

Absolute blasts are their surprising adaptations of The Final Countdown (Europe), Running With The Devil (Van Halen) and Sonisphere hits Enter Venus (Metallica/Shocking Blue) and the Iron Maidley. Truly unique in this world and exceptionally suited for festivals and theatrical events, Blaas Of Glory will perform on all sorts of stages – both in an amplified or an acoustic setting – but equally enjoys performing in the street or marching the festival field.

‘Blaas Of Glory brings a smile to everybody’s face. You are unique in the world.’ John Jackson (promotor Metallica, Iron Maiden) after their performance at Sonisphere

‘A very special highlight at Paaspop is Blaas Of Glory. (…) The band makes a fantastic mash-up of Metallica´s Enter Sandman and Venus by Shocking Blue. And Ace of Spades by Motörhead is performed as a polka. This goes beyond parody.’ Pierre Oitmann on Paaspop 2010 (Festivalinfo.nl)

‘Blaas Of Glory hauskaa pikku viihdykettä enne varsinaista esiintyjää.’ Kuoleva 666 on Sonisphere Finland 2009 (Youtube.com)

‘Sonisphere was awesome, though Blaas of Glory made the weekend!!’ The Guardian on Sonisphere Knebworth 2010

‘Blaas of Glory, I nearly pissed myself. When Iron Maiden started playing Hallowed Be Thy Name I could still hear it on that
xylophone thing in my head.’ Chris Cheale on Sonisphere Knebworth 2010 (Last.fm)

‘They set their very own mood, with a lot of humor and special arrangements. Their ending of November Rain by Guns ‘n’ Roses
sounded like the Don Cossack Choir. (…) The relaxed vocals on Living On A Prayer actually sound better than the hysterical screeching of Jon Bon Jovi.´Hans Adelaars on ‘Read ´m and Weep’ (Musicfrom.nl)

‘Sharoooooon!’ Ozzy Osbourne - The Osbournes (MTV)

‘What the hell is this? And I thought I'd seen it all…Great man…You look good, you’re funny, you made some great arrangements, and you guys can really sing!‘ Jonathan Davis (KoЯn) backstage at Sonisphere 2009.
