Caesars expects to spend $500m on new casino resort in Danville

Caesars will open a casino resort in Danville

According to an investment plan released by gambling giant Caesars Entertainment, the operator intends to open a new casino resort in Danville, Virginia in late 2023. The project will be allocated around $500 million. The Caesars Virginia facility will include 500 hotel rooms, a state-of-the-art casino, a Caesars bookmaker, a roomy poker room, restaurants and other entertainment offerings.

Caesars Entertainment President and COO Anthony Carano commented on the announcement of this massive initiative, "Caesars Virginia will be an economic driver for the region both as a tourism and entertainment destination and by creating over a thousand well-paying jobs within the resort itself."

Presenting the pioneering project for Virginia, the functionary also added: "The people of Danville have trusted us to build a world-class resort. We are therefore looking forward to proving that the expectations that were raised were reasonable and worthy of the iconic Caesars brand Casino Software Providers."

"Over the past two years, myself, the City Council, our staff, residents and Caesars Entertainment have been very focused on developing plans for the resort. It will definitely have a positive impact on the community through new tax revenue, jobs, partnership opportunities with businesses and tourism dollars," added Mayor Alonso Jones, who also served as co-chair of the Caesars for Danville committee.

The construction process for Caesars Virginia will begin in December 2021. The resort is scheduled to open in late 2023. About 900 jobs are expected to be created during construction and about 1,300 professionals will support the operation once it is up and running.
