Harlan Coben. The Innocent (mini-series, 2021)

A young guy found himself behind bars after a skirmish near a nightclub. One unlucky night, Mateo Vidal was walking home by the road that ran through this ill-fated bar. Unexpectedly, the man was involved in a fight, during which a man died. As a result, the main character was sentenced to four years in prison.

After serving his sentence, he was released from prison and firmly intended to start life from scratch – he got a job with his brother in a law firm as they say on Soap2day. Soon after, the young man met a charming girl, Olivia, with whom they later married. Over time, the couple began to prepare for the appearance of the firstborn. However, their happiness was short-lived.

One day Mateo suddenly received a phone call from a stranger who confused all the cards. He revealed to the man that his wife is not who she presents herself in reality. Alas, but, according to him, the woman has very important and frightening information. Unfortunately, it became available to the police, and now the hero again had to attract the attention of law enforcement officers.

Megapolis (2007)

Young realtor Anna is a single mother. Together with her son, preschooler Tima, she moves to a new apartment, where she tries to establish a personal life. While mom goes to nightclubs, charms the neighbor from below and is convinced of the infidelity of the boss, Tim is quietly suffering at the TV. During a street fire-show of regional significance, while mom is dancing with lights, young scammers steal mom's mobile phone from a gawking Tim. Trying to get it, the kid gets into the lair of a children's gang and becomes a hostage of the leader - an 18-year-old "daddy". Mom Anna, who was convinced that in matters of money, as well as love, all men are bastards, has no choice but to accept the help of photographer Semyon, who fell for her ... "Oliver Twist" in Russian did not work out, although the desire of the authors to touch on the painful topic of child crime is respected. Alas, the genre of Ella Arkhangelskaya's film is "tabloid cinema". The main thing that discourages in "Megapolis" is the absolute artificiality of every second episode, the acting in general and the phenomenal anti-literariness of the script. Sample style: "Yes, I'm going, I'm going, I'll stop by the center first, I'll call as soon as I arrive." The helplessness of the actors, who do not know how to justify the absurdities of the script, even touches the finale. There is still a good shot in the "Megapolis": an almost documentary panorama of the faces of the children from the flophouse. It is these faces, not disfigured by dialogues, that speak about the problem of little tramps for more than an hour and a half of action. At this moment, with a theatrical sigh, you can finally say: "I believe."

Suicide Squad (2016)

While Marvel Studios is doing better and better on the big screen with each new film, similar attempts by their colleagues and closest competitors from DC Comics still leave much to be desired. The only relatively good find of this studio over the past five years can be considered Henry Cavill in the role of the revived "Man of Steel", but he was followed by a misunderstanding called "Batman vs Superman", and now an equally unconvincing answer to Marvel's "Deadpool" with "Suicide Squad". I don't know what exactly the guys from DC are missing, but even with a good (overall) casting, quite a bright source characters and more than enough budget, the output of the movie turns out to be barely watchable. Neither the witty and clever Will Smith nor the beautiful Margot Robbie could save the "suicides". And for some reason, the bad singer Jared Leto, who is considered a talented actor, only aggravated the already terrible impression. Of the five members of the squad itself, only two are remembered, while the rest perform the role of necessary extras for some reason, and this despite the fact that, in theory, each of these characters has quite a weighty "story" behind them from a couple of dozen issues of independent comics. Yes, there are a couple of good finds here on https://soap2day-1.day/, yes, Robbie and her Harley Quinn certainly deserved their own spin-off, but otherwise everything is very, very sad. And the fact that in the near future we are also waiting for "Wonder Woman", and "Justice League", and "Aquaman" with Jason Momoa, generally suggests bad thoughts...
